Changwon is South Korea's eighth most populous city and is home to many of the country's largest companies. The city is known for its high concentration of industry and factories. Large numbers of corporate executives, engineers and skilled workers have resulted in Changwon possessing the country's second highest per capita income (behind Seoul). Located on South Korea's southeastern coast and surrounded by mountain ranges, Changwon also serves important military purposes. Changwon is one of only a few planned cities in South Korea. The master planning has resulted in a clean cityscape and well-designed streets.
City 7 is one of Changwon's first mixed-use developments. The large-scale open-air development features residential, retail, office, and hotel components. City 7 is regarded as Changwon's premier shopping and entertainment destination, with numerous high-end international fashion brands. The project is also home to a Lotte Mart hypermarket, providing groceries, department store goods and electronics in one location. The 321 room 5-star Pullman Ambassador is Changwon's most highly rated hotel. The project was completed in 2008. |
