Xinyi District is located in the eastern portion of Taiwan's national capital Taipei. The district is home to the city government and mayor's office, and is also Taipei's core central business and financial district. Much of Xinyi District is comprised of a sizable redevelopment zone with clearly laid out residential and commercial areas, public spaces, and government buildings. Songren Road is the redevelopment zone's main north-south thoroughfare. At the heart of the redevelopment zone, Songren Road features several large-scale retail developments on its western side and numerous high-rise commercial buildings on its eastern side.
Hua Nan Bank Headquarters is located on Songren Road near the center of the redevelopment zone. Founded in Taiwan in 1919, Hua Nan Bank offers numerous financial products and services such as corporate and personal banking, wealth management, credit cards, and insurance. In addition to nearly 300 domestic branches and offices and 10,000 employees, Hua Nan Bank also has an international presence in several countries. The 27-story tower sits atop a 3-story podium and houses the bank's corporate headquarters and contains additional office space. The structural system for Hua Nan Bank Headquarters is partially integrated into the facade. Aside from the central core, the office space has no interior columns allowing endless options for office layouts. Several innovative sustainability enhancing features aimed at reducing energy and water consumption have resulted in the project obtaining LEED Gold status. The project was completed in 2014. |
