Xinyi District is located in the eastern portion of Taiwan's national capital Taipei. The district is home to the city government and mayor's office, and is also Taipei's core central business and financial district. Much of Xinyi District is comprised of a sizable redevelopment zone with clearly laid out residential and commercial areas, public spaces, and government buildings. Songren Road is the redevelopment zone's main north-south thoroughfare. At the heart of the redevelopment zone, Songren Road features several large-scale retail developments on its western side and numerous high-rise commercial buildings on its eastern side.
Kelti Group Headquarters is located on Songren Road, on the corner of an intersection near the center of the redevelopment zone. Kelti Group is one of Taiwan's leading cosmetics retailers with over 3,000 franchised retail stores in over 300 Chinese cities (and over 100 stores in Taiwan). In addition to housing Kelti Group's headquarters, the project contains additional office space and a 13 meter high event hall at the top of the building. The ground floor also contains a Lawry's The Prime Rib, an upscale restaurant. The 20-story building's unique facade and overall design necessitated an innovative structural system that would not limit interior layout options for the office space. The structural system for Kelti Group Headquarters is comprised of two side cores on opposite ends of the building, connected at the top by a 2-story roof truss system. The project was completed in 2009. |
